The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has committed itself to the achievement of developed country status by the year 2020. In view of our strategic thrust, Government believes that tertiary education and training are central to the 2020 developmental processes and outcomes. We believe that we must generate a cadre of qualified, skilled, capable, marketable and civic-minded citizens who can preserve our democracy, transform our socio-economic environment and modernize our society.
